ALLIE MERRICK
THE WINE ENTHUSIAST
ALLIE@MYWINEWORDS.COM

I grew up in a small town, where you hunt, fish or find something else to do. I opted to find something else & found wine. Self-educated by the aid of countless books, conversations w/experts & a lot of tasting,
I sought to establish a career in wine. Starting out as a private wine consultant, I moved into wholesale and then into retail.

After some time, I went west to Napa. However, I found that my love for wine couldn't compare to my love for Peter, a wine guy & a damn good one at that. I returned to Grand Rapids, MI to marry & sip with Peter. Together, we created My Wine Words.

My Wine Words keeps me plenty busy, in addition to serving as the wine personality NW Wine Correspondent (via Northwest Wines To You), traveling for Have Wine Will Travel, filming for Trainsipping and presenting wine to the public via The Savor Experience. Still, I find time to explore what's next. And there is always something just around the corner.
