I've been in the wine industry for over 20 years now. While I specialize in French wine, I'm well versed in most wine regions. Spending time in, France, Spain, Germany & New Zealand, I've enjoyed traveling to vineyards & wineries, speaking with winemakers, walking through rows of vines & tasting from barrels.
Buying wine from suppliers around the world & selling wine to clients around the country, I find satisfaction in getting to know a person's palate then finding a wine to please it. At Martha's Vineyard, as a buyer and seller, I value most the relationships with the clients I serve.
I grew up in a small town, where you hunt, fish or find something else to do. I opted to find something else & found wine. Self-educated by the aid of countless books, conversations w/experts & a lot of tasting, I sought to establish a career in wine. Starting out as a private wine consultant, I moved into wholesale and then into retail.
After some time, I went west to Napa. However, I found that my love for winecouldn't compare to my love for Peter, a wine guy & a damn good one at that. I returned to Grand Rapids, MI to marry & sip with Peter. Together, we created My Wine Words.
